The iPhone 11 Pro Max is marginally taller and broader than its predecessor, but what you’ll note most is that it’s 18 grams heavier. I got used to it easily, but the added weight makes this luxury phone feel even more luxurious. It is still a big handset, despite its 6.5-inch screen size, and it takes two hands to reach the top of the screen.
The triple cameras on the iPhone 11 Pro Max now offer Apple’s best camera phone thanks to its excellent Night mode and enhanced Smart HDR. The cameras also capture stunning 4 K footage with expanded dynamic range and dramatic footage stabilization. Apple’s slow-motion selfies are enjoyable at 120 fps, even though the slofi branding hasn’t been removed.
While we’re on the back of the iPhone, let’s think about the functionality of the camera. It’s not perfect, but it’s rising on me. The holes are so big that they stick out a little too much, as if Apple just wants you to show everyone that you’ve got an iPhone 11 Pro Max — not an iPhone 11 or an iPhone XS.
The lenses are elevated and have a metal frame around them, but the square camera framework above them is also elevated. The raised glass is sharp and angular; it’s not a good feeling to run your finger on the back and touch the camera lens.
If you’re searching for the longest iPhone battery life, the iPhone 11 Pro Max is the one to get, as it lasted almost 12 hours on our web browsing check. Apple also put a quick charger in the package, so you can get up to 50 percent in 30 minutes. We wish Apple had more than 64 GB of storage, so you may want to pay more if you take a lot of footage.
